Google Snatch is another product that seems to think its ok nowadays to charge $97 for an ebook and I guess as long as the “get me rich quick” brigade keep on buying up all this regurgitated crap as fast as its turned out then the $97 is here to stay. We will probably see the $147 mark by the end of the year at this rate!
Anyway, Google Snatch what’s it all about? Well the first thing to get me pissed is the sub title “The free click formula.” The author, Latif, attempts to have you believe he’s come up with some special formula that means he can beat the world famous Google Algorithm and get as many free clicks as he wants. He hasn’t of course because if he had, he wouldn’t be trying to sell it for $97. How much do you think a fortune 500 company would pay for that kind of info?
Google Snatch is your basic SEO guide for beginners, nothing more or less. Sure, in an attempt to justify the extortionate price its been fluffed out with plenty of hype to 120 pages but at the end of the day its just another ebook giving you the basics in SEO so that you can get some free traffic instead of paying for it through Adwords.
It covers keyword research, site structure, link building and avoiding the duplicate penalty. He also goes on about content spinning as a way of generating unique content via one of his other products although that one comes with a monthly fee.
As a beginners guide to SEO Google Snatch is not that bad a read. All the basics are fairly well covered apart from the section on link building which is piss poor. If it was $25 I might have said it was worth a look although there is absolutely nothing in the book that I haven’t read a dozen times before and not this year either, most of the info is from way way back.
