Make Money On The Internet
Written by ady on November 14, 2008 – 1:59 am -One of the reasons one person will make money on the Internet whilst others fail is down to the person’s focus. Most people get an idea in their head about making some easy money online while at work or perhaps reading an article about a blogger making a killing.
So they get home that evening and do a “how to make money on the internet” search and then spend the next 9 to 12 months going from one system to the next until they realize that most of the people making easy money online are the guru’s selling the “How to Make Money Online” ebooks.
There is nothing wrong with buying into a system or an ebook etc. if its from a reliable source and you are going to follow its instructions and see it through. Just avoid the hyped up crap that promises to show you “how to make $27k in 3 months” because its not going to happen. People that make money online start off with hard work and only later when they have a system in place and automate most of the required work can they claim to be “taking it easy”.
The way to make money on the internet is to take a proven business model and then stick to it until you are good at it and it’s working for you. You don’t need to re-invent the wheel, its already been done.
Here’s where the focus comes in because to make money on the internet you will need focus as well as hard work. Its also pretty boring, despite what you might imagine, which is why I always recommend your first blog is about something you are passionate about.
You can chase the cash cows once you actually know how to make money online.
Until then, get yourself over to Blogger.com, open a free account and get blogging about a subject you are passionate about because the best way to learn is to do it and besides, you will never make money on the internet until you actually take some action.
Whatever your passion is, you need to get its name in the title of your blog when you set it upat Blogger. If there is money to be made in your chosen subject the name will be gone so you will need to be imaginative (if it is available there is more than likely no one looking for info on the subject and so no money to be made).
If your passion is Ferrari cars for example you might need to call it ferrarisgofaster. Now all you do is write a 500+ word article about the Ferrari 430. Put the subject in the post title, in the first and last sentence as well as a few times throughout the middle of the article.
Hint: Take another look through this post, its optimized for “make money on the internet.”
Now the boring bit. You then need to rewrite your article into a new 400+ word article and submit it to a few article directories, with links in it pointing back to your post. The anchor text (the words within the link) in your articles need to be the words you want your post to rank for, in this case ferrari 430.
Once Google finds a few links pointing to your post it will rank it in its search results for that term so hopefully when someone searches using that term, your page shows up in the results.
LINKS: Loosely explained, the page with the most links on the internet with that anchor text pointing at it will rank number 1 in Google’s search engine results and any page in that number 1 spot is usually making easy money online, the rest of us though have to keep working hard to climb those results.
That’s the bit you need to grasp if you are to make money on the internet. Your post doesn’t have to be the greatest article ever written about its subject, it just needs the most links pointing at it (this is why I use services such as Article Marketer but don’t worry about that for now, lets just get you going).
Ok so you have done your first post and then rewritten it and posted it at a few article directories. Tomorrow you do it all again but about a different Ferrari. Then the day after that another one and so on until you’ve done every car they ever made. Then you start writing posts about the founder, the formula 1 drivers they have employed through the years, the famous wins they’ve had, the chairmen they’ve had, the engineers etc.
Every post is about Ferrari, every post has the word at least once in its title, the blog has it in its title. Google knows exactly what your blog is about. This blog would make money on the internet for you and once you start to see some traffic turning up you can read up on monetizing your blog with either Adsense or an affiliate program such as Amazon.com or Allposters.com
Blogger.com makes it very easy for you to monetize your blog and so make money on the internet.
Again though, that comes a little later, for now just get a blog started, get writing and send me a link so I can check it out for you and give it a little push

Hi Ady,
You hit the nail on its head when you described the ’symptoms’ of a so called ‘newbie’. Must admit it rang a bell for yours truly. But then, as you so rightly pointed out, realization dawns. What most people fail to realize that to make money online, there are a host of topics/niches besides ‘make money online’. And despite of what the gurus say, you cannot start earning thousands of dollars from the first month, or rank no 1 on Google overnight. It is plain and simple hard work. And patience pays, literally.

Good advice, I think some people forget the important of relevant content linking back to their site and will never make money online unless they work hard at their link building

Nice to see someone actually telling it how it is. I get bored of seeing “gurus” spouting on about how they made “10K in an hour” it’s ludicrous.
